Prospects for Coal and Clean Coal Technologies in Turkey — International Energy Agency Clean Coal Centre — Turkey’s fast-growing economy will require access to increasing amounts of energy, but the country is facing issues related to energy supply. Indigenous energy resources consist of lignite and some hard coal, with nearly all oil and gas being imported. Therefore, Turkey’s government is supporting research, development, and demonstration of clean coal technologies. This report examines technologies and their potential.
